When used with cerium oxide, removes burrs, light scratches, rust and stubborn stains. Suitable for use on stainless steel, copper and aluminum, glass, furniture, ceramics, marble and other non-metallic fine polishable products.
This polishing head is a 1.5″ x 3″ dense wool felt wheel with an aluminum backing plate to be along with cerium oxide to remove scratches in glass. With a 5/8″-13 threaded arbor and a 1/4″ drill adapter (included) removing scratches from glass will be a breeze. If you can feel the scratch with your finger nail, it may be too large to remove with this method.

Yes, we use Cerium Oxide and our Polishing Head for scratch removal to remove light exterior imperfections from windscreens. This combination is also used by many windscreen suppliers to remove light scratches from “new” windscreens before delivery to glass shops. Firstly, the key to scratch removal is patience, persistence and properly identifying that types of scratches that can be removed successfully. Of course, as a rule of thumb if a scratch is deep enough that you can catch a fingernail in it the likelihood of satisfactory removal is greatly diminished. Keep in mind this is a very labor-intensive process so the longer the scratch the longer it will take to remove it, and if the windscreen is covered in scratches it is probably not cost-effective to try….
